Information About Physics 463/464 Senior Research

All physics undergraduate students in the B.S. program are required to complete at least one semester of research by taking 2 credits of Physics 463 or 464 Senior Research.  Students in the B.A. program must complete 2 credits of Physics 461 Senior Seminar (this is a 1 credit course, so it must be taken in two semesters) but alternatively may take 3 credits of 463/464 instead to satisfy degree requirements.   Students must enroll for a minimum of 2 credits of Physics 463 or 464 with consent of the instructor.    General descriptions of research project areas are given below.  Students are encouraged to contact the faculty member offering project areas that interest them to discuss possible research projects to satisfy the 2-credit Physics 463/464.  Students may also speak to their academic advisors to help with initial contacts to other faculty members to discuss research projects.  Note that the Physics 461/463/464 requirement replaces the previous Physics 498 requirement for the degree.  Click here for a list of faculty and their research areas.
