Research Interests

Dr. Stein is interested in many aspects of Einstein’s theory of gravity (general relativity or GR), especially in learning about GR from astrophysical observations. This involves analytically modeling and numerically simulating black hole systems emitting gravitational waves (GWs) as they spiral around and ultimately the black holes smash together. These GW predictions, both from GR and theories beyond GR, can be used to test Einstein’s theory.
